We are therapists and we are business people.
We find balance by improving mental wellness in the workplace as a key component to promoting a healthy corporate culture, retaining key employees and improving employee engagement. We are unique because we combine our business and strategic experience with our clinical training to teach employees mental health skills that benefit the company and its employees professionally and personally.
I was a corporate attorney and senior business leader for 15 years. During those years, I experienced common challenges that many people do in the workplace - stress, worry, conflict, prioritization, maintaining the corporate pace. Like most people, I put my head down and worked hard, but I also went to therapy throughout the years, applied those skills in my personal and professional life and felt great improvement.
Then, I made a radical change professionally. I quit my corporate job and went back to school to earn my masters in social work. I became a therapist because I wanted to help others use mental health skills to manage life. The entire time I was in graduate school and while I was working at a behavioral health hospital, I thought of using these skills in a business setting.
You can take the girl out of the business, but you can't take business out of the girl!
COVID further cemented my passion for this work as burnout rates soared, employee engagement plummeted, and terms like "quiet quitting" and the "great resignation" entered our lexicon. Because – guess what – at the root of all of those developments lie mental health challenges.
So, here I am – with a unique background perfectly suited to serve individuals and corporations by teaching mental health skills that can be applied both professionally and personally.
